I Am A Bunny

“I am a Bunny

by Ole Risom / illustrated by Richard Scarry

“I am a Bunny” was my absolute favourite book as a child.  It’s the book I would always ask my mother to read to me.  And then I’d ask her to read it again.  I would study the illustrations carefully before letting the page be turned.  Needless to say I was very excited when we ordered it for Citizen Kid — just in time for spring.

Illustrated by famed children’s artist, Richard Scarry, and published in 1963, “I am a Bunny” is prized for it’s lively and beautifully detailed artwork.  Scarry is also known for his “Busytown” series of books as well as many other Golden Books like “The Three Little Kittens,” and “The Little Red Hen.”

“I am a Bunny” is a wonderful little story about a bunny named Nicholas and his day to day activities throughout the four seasons.  The illustrations remain some of my favourite drawings as an adult.   I can’t recommend this book highly enough.  Check it out as part of the Easter toys and books display at Citizen Kid!
